EMY issued an emergency bulletin of deteriorating weather. It is finally wintering from Monday afternoon with the weather deteriorating more than Wednesday.
More specifically, the weather is forecast to worsen from today Monday (11-01-2021) in the afternoon in western and gradually northern Greece, with heavy rains and thunderstorms that will be accompanied in places by hail and stormy south winds of 7 to 8 Beaufort. On Tuesday (12-01-2021) the intense phenomena will affect most areas of the country.
In more detail, the following areas will be affected:
1. Today Monday (11-01-2021) From the afternoon the Ionian islands, Epirus, the west
From tonight, Thessaly, central Sterea, Macedonia and Thrace.
2. On Tuesday (12-01-2021)
a. The Ionian Islands, Epirus, the western and central Sterea, the northwestern Peloponnese, Thessaly, the Sporades, central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the islands of the northeastern Aegean.
b. Shortly before noon the rest of the Peloponnese, eastern Sterea, Evia, gradually the other islands of the eastern Aegean and in the evening temporarily the northern Cyclades.
c. From the evening the Dodecanese.
Weakening of the phenomena is expected initially in the northern Ionian and Epirus from the afternoon, gradually in the rest of the Ionian and in the evening, in the rest of the mainland.
3. On Wednesday (13-01-2021) In the early morning hours the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.
As it is noted, from Wednesday (13-01-2021) a significant drop in temperature is forecast, which will be felt initially in the north where it will be in the range of 10-12 degrees Celsius . Frost will occur in the northwestern continents in the morning and evening and north winds will prevail throughout the country.
